Professor John Moore
Chief Scientist, College of Global Change and Earth System Science, Beijing Normal University, Guest professor, Institute of Polar Research, China; Research Professor at Universities of Lapland & Oulu, Finland. Originally from England did a PhD with British Antarctic Survey, then lived 15 years in Finnish Lapland, and moved to China a few months ago as part of China’s huge climate change programme. Research Activities: Past sea level change and prediction; natural and anthropogenic climate forcing; impacts of extreme events. Extraction of paleoclimate from physical and chemistry analysis of Arctic and Antarctic ice cores. Geophysical field work and computer modelling of glacier flow and evolution. Finnish representative on the International Arctic Science Committee, Glaciology Group. 85 peer-review publications.
